Similarities and Differences Keurig K-Supreme vs K-Supreme Plus

Brew size options

The K Supreme comes in six different brew sizes: six, eight, ten, and twelve ounces. Meanwhile, the K Supreme Plus is compatible with all Keurig coffee cup sizes (4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 ounces).

For daily caffeine drinks, most Keurig drinkers stick to the 6 or 8-ounce cups. Unless you want weak coffee, we recommend skipping the 10-ounce and especially the 12-ounce. Therefore, the 4-ounce is ideal for producing espresso-style Keurig drinks, but drip coffee aficionados may be put off by the smaller volume.

While the 4-ounce cup size is a welcome addition, most Keurig fans will be satisfied with any of the K Supreme machines’ brew size selections.

Machine size

The K Supreme models are the tiniest Keurig coffee makers available. Although the original K Supreme is the smallest of the lot and the lightest by approximately two pounds, the size differences between the K Supreme choices are rather minimal.

Because the difference in size between the KSupreme Plus and the original K Supreme is so little, as a result, we will focus just on the original K Supreme and how it compares to the other two.

The adjustable water reservoir on the K Supreme makes it the most adaptable of these variants if counter space is limited. In fact, Keurig eliminated this feature in subsequent models for whatever reason, most likely due to the larger water tank.

Water tank

The 66-ounce water tank on the original K Supreme was already the second-largest of any Keurig model. The K Supreme Plus, on the other hand, went even bigger, with a 78-ounce tank. The K Supreme can brew 11 cups of coffee between refills when using 6-ounce cups, while the K Supreme Plus can brew 13 cups.

Therefore, all of the water tanks on the K Supreme are removable, making refilling and cleaning a breeze. Because a dirty water tank can ruin the flavor of your coffee and potentially constitute a health hazard, a removable water tank is a must-have.

Color and design

The core design of the K Supreme versions is the same. Except for the protruding water tank, they resemble Keurig’s other compact coffee machines. Although the tank detracts from the sleek appearance of most Keurigs, these are nonetheless beautiful coffee makers. With any of the K Supreme models, there aren’t many color possibilities. The standard K Supreme is available in white, black, or gray. Only stainless steel is offered for the K Supreme Plus.

Setting the brew strength

Keurigs must include brew strength settings to compensate for the stereotypically weak coffee of pod coffee machines.

The Keurig strong button and other brew strength options slow down the brewing process, extracting additional coffee tastes. There are just two brew strengths in the original K Supreme: ordinary and strong. At this moment, that’s the same as most of Keurig’s mid-tier coffee makers.

The Keurig K Supreme Plus offers the same regular and strong settings as the K Supreme, as well as an over-ice mode that makes the coffee even stronger and at a lower temperature. That temperature is ideal for creating an iced coffee that will not be diluted by melting ice cubes.

Favorites that can be programmed

If you and your roommate or significant other have different preferences, sharing a customized coffee machine might be difficult. The K Supreme Plus, fortunately, makes this easy by adding favorite presets for all of your brew parameters.

You may save up to three settings with the Plus. With a staggering ten preset settings, the Plus Smart goes even farther. Even if you don’t have any roommates, having multiple presets for ordinary pods, strong coffee k-cups, flavored k-cups, and whatever other k-cups you use can be useful.

Internet access via Wi-Fi

Keurig’s K Supreme Plus is the company’s first true Wi-Fi coffee machine. After connecting the machine to Wi-Fi, you may use the Keurig app on your iPhone or Android to control it. You can control the presets, start a coffee brew, and receive personalized beverage recommendations all from your phone.

Temperature regulation

Until recently, a coffee maker with temperature control choices was uncommon, but automatic pour-over coffee makers have demonstrated how important temperature control is for making the best coffee.

Changing the temperature of your brew influences the flavors extracted from your coffee grinds. Hotter temperatures extract additional aromas, including sweeter and eventually bitter notes that persist in the soil. There are no temperature control options on the K Supreme. Obviously, you may pick between three temperatures with the K Supreme Plus.

Multi-Stream technology

If you’ve ever owned one of the older versions, you’re well aware of Keurig’s ability to streamline operations. Multi-Stream Technology is what sets the new K Supreme coffee machine apart.

Furthermore, to make single-serve K cup brews, the technique uses numerous streams of water. When you open the top of the brewer, you will see five sharp needles circling the head. Your drink will impact you at five different points thanks to strategically placed needles. This increases the amount of time your coffee grounds are in contact with water. As a result, the Keurig K Supreme Plus extracts a more flavorful cup.

Cup-Friendly

The K Supreme coffee machine, like other Keurig programmable favorites, accepts all kinds of coffee tastes, types, and brands of K cup pods. Non-coffee drinkers will love the technology because of its features. The Keurig provides more than just a great cup of coffee.

Apple cider, hot cocoa, chai latte, and herbal tea are among the beverages it can handle. If you’re making a hot beverage, the Keurig machine will flush out the K cup pods, cleaning the contents and resulting in an amazing flavor and aroma. Even reusable coffee filters are compatible with the dual position technology. Create your own blend of ground coffees and pour them into the universal reusable K cup.

Reusable k cup

A reusable K cup is included with the Keurig K Supreme. It can be used with Multi-Stream Technology. The machine’s pod holder was removed. The gray arm must also be removed. Otherwise, the reusable K cup pod will not fit.

Reusable K cup pods aren’t always simple to use. If you’re concerned about the environment, you might object to using a non-plastic solution. Using the functionality may not be worthwhile for some. Despite the fact that the coffee maker parts are dishwasher safe, there are many parts to unscrew, clean, and reassemble. Particularly the recyclable Keurig pods will appeal to the environment concerned. On the K Supreme, cut open the top film. Clean the coffee grounds out of the cup, rinse it, and recycle it.

Quietness

Most earlier Keurig technologies include silent operating as standard. The K Supreme is almost imperceptibly silent. In addition, it has Quiet Brew Technology, which makes it much quieter than comparable coffee makers.

Maintenance

The Keurig K Supreme is an easy-to-use machine. Using a soft, wet cloth, wipe clean the shell. Disposable pieces should be washed with soap and water. At least once every two to six months, descale the K Supreme Plus reservoir.

Positioning the reservoir

The depth and width of the reservoir can be changed by moving it to the side or back. The reservoir in the back narrows and deepens the Keurig unit by two inches. If viewed from the side, the redesigned K Supreme is two inches broader and two inches shorter. It’s crucial to get the right spot for your brewing.

Set-Up

This coffee machine only requires the addition of a water filter and a standard watering cycle. Unfortunately, there are no instructions for utilizing the filter included with the Keurig machines. However, we discovered that it is a rather simple procedure.

For five minutes, submerge the filter capsule in water.

  • Remove the filter and rinse it.
  • Replace it in the water container’s base.
  • Replace the filter every eight weeks or after 60 tank refills, whichever comes first. These coffee makers will alert you when it’s time to descale. Hence, this usually happens after about 250 uses.

To make a cup of tea, follow these steps:

  • Choose a cup size, such as 12 oz.
  • Insert your K cup pod.
  • Temperature control can be adjusted
  • Choose a level of difficulty.
  • To start your brew, press the K in the center.
  • Your smart display will keep you up to date on the brewing process.

Revolutionary Technology

The K Supreme and K Supreme Plus are two new and interesting Keurig brewers that were recently released. This revolutionary MultiStream technology guarantees that you get the freshest, tastiest, and most aromatic cup conceivable. In addition, the temperature control and the ability to program brewing preferences for up to three users are just a few of the features and advancements that make the K Supreme Plus stand out. Therefore, this is the ideal solution for you if you want to tailor your beverages to your specific preferences while still being able to utilize a time-saving Keurig.

With the K Supreme, the seasoned brewer will have a blast making new discoveries. The harried newcomer will usher in a world of no-hassle, rapid, and efficient brewing. Likewise, you will never have to worry about measuring your brew again thanks to the three temperature presets.

The Supreme Plus boasts the largest removable water reservoir in the industry, capable of making nine to 12 oz cups. This can last anywhere from a few days to a week. Thus, a water filter is also included, allowing you to fill directly from the tap.

Which K Supreme from Keurig makes the best coffee?

All of the Keurig coffee makers, including the K Supreme and K Supreme Plus, create better coffee than previous Keurig coffee makers. That’s because the K Supreme range debuted MultiStream brewing technology, the company’s most significant innovation in recent years.

Older Keurigs used a single stream of water to extract all of the grounds from the pod, which frequently failed. As a result, the coffee was weak and watery. In addition, MultiStream substitutes the single stream with five streams of water that equally wet the grounds, allowing each pod to extract considerably more flavor.

Is K Supreme Plus worth it?

The newer Supreme Plus model has greater brew sizes, temperature control, programmable favorite presets, and a digital display, which is the main difference between the Keurig K Supreme and the Supreme Plus.

Final Thoughts

You had to choose between good coffee and convenience. Early pod coffee machines were intended to appeal to coffee enthusiasts, but they produced horribly weak coffee. As you can see, the K Supreme and its predecessors, on the other hand, were a huge step forward, offering coffee consumers high-quality coffee that was even more convenient than prior Keurigs.
